On January the 13th 2014 I called someone out for responding to one of my posts that was originally posted on January the 13th 2013. Turns out they were simply browsing the site by clicking subsequent related articles till they found my post.

9 months? You got someone pregnant and now they're telling you that you're the father.

I got a recommendation for a comment I made two years ago. Again, it popped up in a related post. THE POWER OF KINJA!!

Edit: I just recommended your comment. :D

I can understand finding the article, but actually taking the time to read through the comments, including those in the gray? They must be on the hunt for something...

I should make that my thing. Browse year old post and resurrect them just because.

Yea I was going to scroll back to your first available post and comment on it but after scrolling through about 20 pages and only being back in mid-December, I gave up.

Well your username sure sounds like Lazarus... It would be fitting. Do it!

If it makes any difference, you're no longer gray'ed and show up as the exact last post on the page.

I do it sometimes by mistake, when I open up a bunch of tabs for recent posts and one or two older ones, then forget all about them being old ones by the time I get round to reading them.

I don't blame you. If only there was a way to sort by date from oldest to newest.

I've often thought about picking one person, recommending their 20 oldest posts, then write some article with a clickbait headline.

Then all of that persons old comments would pop up in the reco bar on the left. If I did it right it might get a pretty good chain reaction going on....

It would be hilarious. First someone would be pissed I reco'd their 20 oldest comments....then they'd keep getting hit with notifications from all the people clicking the sidebar links!

Looks to me like it's more of a "Comment of the Day", with different comments picked from the original discussion and credited. At least for today. I miss $kay's awards, though.

It looks like the post you commented on way back then is now a "related" story to one on today's FP, so the old story got an infusion of new readers.

Ah. I don't head over to Jalopnik anymore, unless it's on accident when an article is referenced here. It's like some exclusive high school clique over there.
